Thursday Workshop: Precision Medicine - Improving Insights and Outcomes in Medicine with the use of Genomics
"Precision Medicine: Improving Insights and Outcomes in Medicine with the use of Genomics"
With Drs. Sharon Hausman-Cohen, MD, AAFP, AIHM, Laura Lile, MD, RPh, and Carol Bilich, CEO
Thursday, March 19, 2026
12:00 pm - 5:00 pm
Sponsored by IntellxxDNA
In this exciting 5 hr pre-conference workshop you will get a deeper understanding of the root causes of many different disease states and health issues and how genomics can be used to develop a precision plan that fits within integrative medicine ideals for optimizing your patients' health. This preconference workshop is being offered as a non-CME workshop. This allows us to openly share practical information such as the names of specific supplements that can be used to address various genomic pathways and dosing (based on the literature), so you leave with new skills and knowledge you can take back to your practice for immediate use.
1. The role of nutrigenomics, methylation and oxidative stress in chronic illness: Here case studies will be used to show how genomic variants that relate to topics such as the ability to transport B12 into the brain, the genomic ability to recycle Vitamin C and CoQ10 to their antioxidant state, as well as other genomic variants including those relating to choline, iron, magnesium, vitamin D and vitamin D receptors relate to common health concerns such as migraines, cataracts, atrial fibrillation and neurologic health.
2. Apo E4 is not enough: Many people think of ApoE4 as the "Alzheimer's" gene. But Apo E4 is not enough. The cognition risk conveyed by ApoE4 is modulated by hormone, nutrient, detox, inflammation, coagulation, and mitochondrial pathways. Understanding these interacting gene variants is critical to brain optimization as well as knowing how to evaluate individuals with memory concerns that do not have ApoE4. This talk will focus on how having access to detailed genomics relating to cognition can improve your outcomes for brain prevention and treatment.
3. A precision approach to cardiometabolic disease: Cholesterol is only one small piece of the cardiac puzzle! This talk will help you understand other important contributing factors including microclotting, soluble ST2, calcification, and oxidative stress and how to address them.
4. An Insider's Guide to Hormones: There are many gene variants that contribute to how hormones get converted into their more or less toxic metabolites, the interactions between hormones and memory, symptoms of menopause, progesterone response and even brain fog and anxiety. This session will focus on understanding some key genomic variants relating to the "hot" topic of menopause and hormones.
5. Improving Mood Naturally: This talk will focus on how understanding genomic root causes of anxiety and depression will allow for you to take a precision approach to prevention and treatment.
6. The Business of Precision Medicine: This is an opportunity for us to discuss the business aspects of an integrative medicine practice and how to create packages, membership models or other ways of billing for your special services as an integrative clinician.

Sharon Hausman-Cohen, AAFP, AIHM
Dr. Hausman-Cohen has been in the field of integrative medicine for over 25 years. She has been a co-author on numerous papers and textbook chapters on the use of genomics for identifying contributing factors and improving patient health outcomes. She co-founded Resilient Health Austin and IntellxxDNA™, a genomics decision support tool used nationwide, empowering clinicians to practice precision medicine. IntellxxDNA was developed to answer to an unmet need in the medical community: an accurate, evidence-based genomics tool to help clinicians practice true root cause medicine. Dr. Hausman-Cohen earned her master’s and medical degrees from Harvard Medical School.
Laura Lile, MD, RFP
Dr. Laura Lile's journey began with a deep-rooted desire to help others and a passion for science. Driven by a thirst for knowledge, she achieved the distinction of being one of the few dual-credentialed compounding pharmacists and preventative health medical doctors in the world. Her unique training in age management enables her to shift the emphasis from disease-driven medicine to a proactive, preventative healthcare approach focused on optimizing health. Today, Dr. Laura Lile continues to make a profound impact as a practicing physician and clinical pharmacist at Lile Wellness. Her multifaceted expertise in medicine, pharmacy, and patient advocacy positions her as an invaluable asset to her patients and the healthcare community. Dr. Lile's most recent endeavor has been advocating for pharmacists to be credentialed to provide genomic consultations. This groundbreaking step allowed four PharmD students from OSU to participate alongside Dr. Lile, becoming the first in their profession in the country to be credentialed for counseling patients on IntellxxDNA genomics. With a visionary approach that transcends conventional boundaries, she remains dedicated to advancing the intersection of medicine and pharmacy, ensuring that patients receive the best possible care in an ever-evolving healthcare landscape.
