I’m contacting you today, because Senator McCain has just introduced a bill that would wipe out even the minimal protections for dietary supplements contained in DSHEA. This bill gives the FDA full discretion and power to compile a discreet list of supplements allowed to remain on the market while banning all others. As you know, this would devastate the integrative health community.

We have just sent out an action alert to all of our readers asking them to contact their senators and oppose this bill.

It is vital that our industry launch a collaborative attack on this bill. Would you please ask your members to go to https://secure3.convio.net/aahf/site/Advocacy?cmd=display&page=UserAction&id=510 and take action? It’s critical that we send a swift and strong message to the senate not to co-sponsor this bill. If the bill gains enough co-sponsors, it could be attached to an appropriations or other bill in the senate, where it would pass easily.
