Idea to promote TACT trial with Focus Pages

TACT Trial Enrollment ends June 30, 2010

The NIH sponsored Trial to Assess Chelation Therapy (TACT Trial) is in it's final stages of enrollment. To assist with TACT Trial enrollment, we need to quickly create at least 10 to 25 more of Focus pages. These can feature information on topics from chelation, metal toxicity, heart disease, etc. Each one will contain a section on the TACT trial.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO TO PARTICIPATE:
1. Fill out the Focus page form at the bottom of this email. You will then receive further information to make it easy to either be a participant or a supporter of this effort.
2. Email us any related information or articles that would help to move this project forward by emailing them to us.
How this project got started: At the recent ICIM/AHMA conference, Terry Chappell, MD initiated a discussion about ways to increase enrollment for the TACT Trial as well as increase positive articles on the web for chelation therapy. As a result, Jeff Sternberg was able to edit the Focus page previously created to market Chelation Therapy to create an online mechanism to marketing for enrollment for the TACT Trial.

“Focus” pages bring Integrative Medicine concepts to the public on Social Media sites because they are powerful in terms of Search Engine Optimization (SEO). In addition, their rules about publishing disallow any negative postings so this media allows us to avoid some of the attempts by outside forces to deprecate our efforts. Due to the short time frame, it will also be necessary to utilize PAID advertising to target people and families who may fit the criteria for an enrollee into the trial to get them to these focus pages.
On each Focus page, we feature memorable quotes from 2 to 3 different doctors relating to an underling article . Each of these quotes links to an appropriate page on that practitioner’s website. These quotes and back-links engage traffic flow to the doctor’s website and pass on SEO power from the Focus page. As the underlying article is written by a medical copywriter, all a practitioner needs to provide is a 150 to 250 word quote in order to participate in this project. The prototype Chelation Therapy Focus page can be found at: http://www.squidoo.com/chelation-therapy-and-cardiovascular-disease .

Here are examples of Focus pages that have been created on other topics:

http://www.squidoo.com/environmental-food-allergy-testing-and-treatment

Other Benefits to Your Practice:
o Market Your Name and website and gain high quality backlinks
o Ongoing Search Engine Optimization for the linked page on your website.
o Recruit enrollees for the TACT trial which will be featured on each Focus page
o Market Your Specialties: Each of these Web 2.0 sites produces powerful Search Engine Optimization results
o Low resource requirement: only need an short article or quote and a modest subscription fee
o Gain Traffic from each Focus page you participate with and from the hundreds of backlinks to your website from the SEO promotion.
o Additional exposure from all of the other Social Media sites that each of these pages are linked to: Facebook,

FAN Bulletin 2013: Stockin strikes at the heart of the beast

March 9, 2010

Dear Robban ,

Please drop everything you are doing and watch the TV news story, "Dangerous Fluoride," from the CBS affiliate in Atlanta, Georgia at http://www.cbsatlanta.com/video/22781769/

Remember Atlanta is the home of the CDC: the biggest promoter of fluoridation in the US and the world. Dan Stockin has struck at the heart of the beast of fluoridation in its home town. Neither the ADA nor the CDC could provide answers to the CBS news team. Surprise, surprise.

We need to get the link to this videoclip (transcript below) on as many websites and other outlets as possible. Please put it on your facebook, your twitter or whatever internet system you use. Please send it to any media contacts you have and ask them to follow up on this story.

Meanwhile, Dan Stockin, and the Lillie Center for which he works, are in desperate need of funds to keep this project going. FAN is sending $5000 but this is only a fraction of what he needs. Please use the donate button on his website: http://spotsonmyteeth.com/ He also needs more photos of those with dental fluorosis to send in pictures of their teeth to this same website.

Not only is the CDC the heart of the beast, but we know that dental fluorosis is its Achilles heel. They cannot deny that fluoridation increases the risk of dental fluorosis. They cannot deny that it is a huge problem in the US. Their own figures show that at least 32% of American children suffer from this condition. Moreover, even though they have advised that fluoridated tap water should not be used to make up baby formula, they have not taken aggressive steps to get this message out to parents. Nor are they warning vulnerable sub-groups of the population that they are more vulnerable to fluorosis than others.

Even more serious is that the US Public Health Service, the CDC's parent body, has nurtured a huge gamble since 1950. They have assumed - and hoped - that while fluoride is damaging the growing tooth cells that it wasn't harming any other tissue in the infant's body. This was a reckless gamble in 1950. They didn't have the evidence to support that gamble in 1950, and they haven't shown much inclination to collect any evidence since: the absence of study does not mean the absence of harm. The CDC is not exercising due diligence on the dangers of fluoridation and it is failing to protect the public health. Now the mainstream media in its home town knows about it. Thanks Dan.

Fluoride: Friend Or Foe?
Fluoride Opponent Says Chemical Is Harmful To Our Health
By Stephany Fisher, CBS Atlanta Anchor

Excerpt: "... The American Dental Association and the Centers for Disease Control have endorsed water fluoridation since 1950 and while they admit that fluoride can be toxic in excessive quantities, the ADA maintains that at optimal levels, water fluoridation is a safe and effective way to prevent dental decay.

But, when we tried to ask the tough questions, the CDC and State Dental Director Elizabeth Lense, denied our requests for interviews..."

“Clinical Application of Urinary Neural Biomarkers”

It’s not too late to sign up for ICIM’s Lead-in Workshop March 17-18
“A Primer of Natural Therapeutics”
featuring:
“Clinical Application of Urinary Neural Biomarkers”
Speaker: Eileen Marie Wright, M.D.

Description:

The application of urinary neural biomarkers in clinical practice, including therapeutic interventions based on these biomarkers, will be the focus of this presentation. The lecture will begin with a discussion of why, when and how to utilize these biomarkers. References supporting the validity of the clinical use of these biomarkers will be reviewed. The basics of test interpretation will discussed via case presentations demonstrating the utilization of these biomarkers to guide therapeutic interventions. Clinical conditions discussed will include depression, anxiety, insomnia, and childhood behavioral disorders. Issues that interfere with the utility of this approach will also be discussed.

Learning Objectives and Goals:

1) To introduce the audience to the use of urinary neurotransmitter excretion as a biomarker for assessing balance/imbalance of the nervous system
2) To describe the appropriate use of these markers to guide the design of individualized nutritional and or pharmaceutical therapy to bring the nervous system into balance
3) To describe the application of therapy guided by these biomarkers in persons with low mood, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and childhood behavioral disorders
4) To alert the clinician to underlying issues that can interfere with the successful application of this approach
5) To leave the attending clinician with enough information that they are able to begin applying this information in their clinical practice
