The International College of Integrative Medicine (www.icimed.com) invites you to our CME meeting “Detoxification” in Grand Rapids, MI October 2-4, 2009. Why Come? 1) We are all exposed to toxins 2) Toxins have negative health effects - always. 3) Getting rid of toxins prevents diseases and treats patients from a curative position.

ICIM is pleased to showcase one of our favorite speakers Tom Malterre MS, CN in this exploration of detox therapies. Tom is an energetic and dynamic speaker who has impressed us with rigorous and detailed scientific backing of his work.

Food is full of signaling molecules that alter human genetics. Therefore, it should come as no surprise that the food we eat helps us process the potentially toxic chemicals that we might come in contact with on a daily basis. Malterre’s presentation “How common foods and herbs guide us through a toxic world” will discuss the genius of nature and how it alters detoxification through our daily diets. Emphasis will be placed on vegetables (cruciferous and others), fruits, turmeric (curcumin), green tea, and milk thistle (silymirin).
The ICIM conference also features our metals workshop "Advanced Course in Metal Toxicity: The Impact on Human Health; Remedies and Rationale. The Use by Terrorists of Compounds with Chelation Remedies" with Saran Flora MD of India, Solomon Chiou MD of Taiwan, and George Kontoghiorghes PhD of Cyprus, and our staff training "A Primer Of Natural Therapeutics: An Introduction To Certification In Dietary Supplement Counseling," understanding the range and properties of herbals, botanicals and nutrients. CEUs available. www.integrativemedicineconference.com.

ICIM is a community of dedicated healthcare professionals advancing emergent innovative therapies in integrative and preventive healthcare by conducting educational sessions, supporting research and publications and cooperating with other professional and scientific organizations, while always promoting the highest standards of practice. Our meetings are scientific and research based.
